Trouble with white space on Hero Image? Tackling coding for the first time!

Currently a creative designer diving into the world of coding, I am eager to enhance my knowledge of HTML and CSS.

Recently, I incorporated a hero image into my design but noticed some white gaps appearing on the sides. Strangely enough, it doesn't seem to be caused by padding as the text aligns perfectly with the edge. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

Answer №1

The issue stems from the padding set on .container, .container-fluid

https://i.sstatic.net/48T76.gif

.container, .container-fluid {
    margin-right: auto;
    margin-left: auto;
    padding-left: 15px;
    padding-right: 15px;
}

Once you correct the padding, you may need to make adjustments to other elements as well.

Answer №2

<div id="top-section">
      <div class="row">
        <div class="col-md-12">
          <h1>Innovative Design Headline</h1>
          <p>Sarah Smith is a talented designer based in Boston, USA. <br> She creates unique experiences for brands and helps connect customers with products.</p>
        </div>
      </div>

Avoid using the container-fluid div class and eliminate the padding-0 class. This adjustment may be beneficial for you.
