"Transform the appearance of the character pointer in Atom Editor by customizing the theme

Hey everyone, I need help with a couple of things.

  1. I'm trying to figure out how to adjust the color of the cursor in Atom. Any tips on how to do this?

  1. Another issue I'm having is with the find function in Atom. The highlighted words that match my search query are showing up in a difficult-to-see grey color. Is there a way to change this color?

Answer №1

If you're using Atom, customizing the cursor color is a breeze. Just go to styles.less by clicking on File > Open Your Stylesheet. Near the end of the file, you'll find this snippet:

atom-text-editor::shadow .cursor {

}

Here's where you can tweak the cursor color. Simply modify the code like this:

border-color: //your color here; (yellow tends to pop against darker backgrounds)

Make sure to input your preferred color inside the parentheses.
