Problem with responsive design on iPhone

I'm currently working on developing a responsive chatbot using CSS Bootstrap. However, I've encountered an issue where the header and footer are not fixed when I open the app on an iPhone. The keyboard header is also moving up the screen, which seems to be a unique problem only appearing on iOS devices as it works perfectly fine on Android. Can anyone offer assistance in resolving this particular issue?

Answer №1

Could you clarify what exactly you are referring to?

I'm not entirely certain, but it sounds like you might be discussing the browser bar that is hidden on iPhones - this is often the main difference between Android and iOS devices.

I encountered a similar issue with a web page containing a horizontal scroll effect that was fixed. When swiping the page on iOS devices, the browser attempted to hide the bars, leading to some flickering and jumping effects.

If this is your problem, I recommend trying this solution:

/* Prevent hiding browser bar */
html {
    overflow: hidden!important;
    height:100%!important;
    position:fixed!important; /* prevent overscroll bounce */
    -webkit-overflow-scrolling: touch!important; /* iOS velocity scrolling */
}

This solution worked for me, so hopefully it will help you as well.
