                <label>First Name<span class="required"></span></label>
                <input type="text" name="first" id="first" value="First Name" class="requiredField" onblur="if(this.value == '') { this.value = 'First Name'; }" onfocus="if(this.value == 'First Name') { this.value = ''; }" />

In order to transfer the data to a server program, you will typically rely on technologies such as PHP, npm, python, among others. There are multiple options available for this purpose. Pure HTML or client-side JavaScript alone will not suffice unless the user saves the document and sends it to you via email.
