Tips for incorporating several d3 elements on a single webpage

I am currently facing an issue where I am attempting to add a line graph below a d3 map, but the map and line graph are appearing below where the map should be located. I have tried creating separate div tags with distinct id's, but I am unsure of what else to do. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Formalizing my previous comment into an answer as it seems to have helped: It appears that you may be unnecessarily creating two separate svg variables for each visualization. This could potentially cause conflicts, especially if there are asynchronous data calls happening simultaneously (for instance, the svg variable referencing the second svg by the time the world map data call finishes).
