The dropdown menu causes other buttons to appear distorted

When the "Projects" button is hovered over, I would like the drop-down menu to smoothly roll down without affecting the size of other buttons and also push the footer down. Any assistance on achieving this would be highly appreciated.

Thank you.

To align your buttons to the start of the container, include align-items: flex-start in your CSS:

.buttons_home {
    display: flex;
    justify-content: center;
    align-items: flex-start; /* Make sure to add this */
    gap: 5%;
    margin-top: 10%;
}

Also, make sure to keep .dropdown:hover .project_menu as position: relative, instead of changing it to position: absolute.
