The clash between Angular.json's CSS styles configuration and a component's own CSS settings

After experimenting with both angular.json's CSS setting and component CSS setting, I noticed that the component CSS setting is not fully applied.

I am looking for a way to ensure that the component CSS setting works properly in a particular component.

Answer №1

If you include the following line in your @component annotation:

encapsulation: ViewEncapsulation.None,

it will allow globally written CSS to be inherited. However, any styles defined within the Component using the same class will take precedence over existing styling.

Additionally, CSS specific to the Component will have a higher priority than global css settings configured in the .angular-cli.json file.
