Styles for the Top-bar Navigation in Foundation Framework

Is there a way to customize the default styles of the top bar and nav bar in my project?

I have already referred to the Foundation Docs regarding the Top Bar, which mentions the use of SASS. However, I am unsure about how to implement it. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your help!

Answer №1

You can easily customize the colors and breakpoints of the entire Foundation library in the SASS version by adjusting the values in the settings file (_settings.scss or _settings.sass).

Make changes to the top bar elements located at the bottom of the file by uncommenting and modifying the specific variable line you wish to adjust.

I have recently developed a custom .app style sheet and linked it as an external style sheet. In this style sheet, I have defined the following:

.top-bar {

background: specified color;

}

.top-bar-section li a:not(.button)
{
background: specified color;
}

I am currently in the process of familiarizing myself with Foundation and experimenting with how to adjust elements. I find it helpful to use the inspection tool in Google Chrome to identify the elements that need to be included in your stylesheet.

Answer №3

Here is a suggestion for your custom CSS stylesheet:

.top-bar-section li a:not(.button) {
    background-color: black;
    color: white;
    }

.top-bar-section li a:not(.button):hover {
    background-color: red;
    color: white;
    }
