Steps to keep the gridlines in the chart from moving

Take a look at the example provided in the following link: Labeling the axis with alphanumeric characters. In this particular instance, the gridlines adjust dynamically based on the coordinate values. How can we modify this so that the chart remains static, irrespective of changes in the coordinate values?

PLEASE NOTE: Modifying the last coordinate value [17,16] causes the entire chart to either compress or expand, depending on the given coordinate value.

To make this happen easily, just set a fixed upper limit for the domain. For instance, if you are sure that your x and y values will not go beyond 30, try the following:

let x = d3.scale.linear()
    .domain([0,30])
    .range([0, width]);

let y = d3.scale.linear()
    .domain([0,30])
    .range([0, height]);
