Shape with a dark border div

Having some trouble with creating this particular shape using CSS border classes. If anyone can assist in making this black box shape using Jquery, it would be greatly appreciated. Check out the image here.

Answer №1

To achieve that particular shape, you can utilize borders along with the CSS property transform: rotate

.custom-shape {
  width: 80px;
  border-left: 25px solid transparent;
  border-right: 25px solid transparent;
  border-bottom: 80px solid black;
  transform: rotate(90deg);
  margin: 50px;
}
<div class="custom-shape"></div>
