Prevent webpage from resizing when window dimensions change

Whenever I resize my webpage window, the elements start to pile on top of each other and it looks disorganized. For example, when I reduce the window size, YouTube just cuts off everything instead of stacking the images. How can I achieve a similar effect without the clutter?

By default, block elements adjust their width to fit the parent container. If a specific width or min-width is not specified in pixels for the container, then the width will automatically be set to 100%, causing the child elements to resize accordingly. To address this, include a width/min-width in the container's styling:

#container{
  width: 800px;
  margin: 0 auto;
  ...
}
