Is your CSS failing to display images properly?

I recently launched my website, www.alphenweer.nl, and everything seems to be working fine except for the images in the template. Despite being on the correct URL, the images fail to load when the website is accessed. You can test it out here. Can someone please offer assistance as to why the images are not loading?

Best regards

Answer №1

Upon reviewing your css, I noticed the following:

#header {
   border-bottom: 1px solid black;
    width: 985px;
    background-image: url('http://images.alphenweer.nl/i/header-winter.png');
    text-align: center;
    height: 250px;
}

When attempting to access the image URL directly in a browser, I encountered a 404 error, indicating that the image is not located on your webserver.

Answer №2

Oh no! I just discovered the solution myself. Turns out I just needed to reupload the css files, silly me =)!

I guess I'll know when you all start giving me thumbs down! =)

Answer №3

When multiple images are loading and some are not on the same location, it may be due to hyphens in the image names.

Hyphens in names can cause issues in various scenarios, including CSS, accessing databases, table names, directories, and file names. It's recommended to use underscores instead of hyphens to avoid such problems.

The reason why hyphens cause problems is not clear. If anyone has insight into this, please share your knowledge.
