Is there a way to reduce the height of the year dropdown list in the datepicker? It currently extends too far and takes up a lot of space in the viewport

I've been struggling with the height of a dropdown list for years. Despite my attempts to solve it with CSS, it seems to be more complicated than that. Online searches have not yielded the solution I need, and the documentation isn't providing the answers I seek.

Answer №1

Unfortunately, CSS cannot be used to decrease the height of a select element's list.

If you want to limit the number of options displayed, you can utilize the yearRange option. For instance, you can specify a range like 2016-2021:

$( ".selector" ).datepicker("option", "yearRange", "2016:2021");

For more detailed information, refer to the documentation: https://api.jqueryui.com/datepicker/#option-yearRange
