Ionic - encountering crashes with ion-nav-view on emulator

I am encountering an issue with ion-nav-view. Whenever I try to use it, the emulator displays a black screen, but it works perfectly fine in ionic serve.

I suspect it may be a syntax error causing this problem.

Interestingly, when I create a blank project, ion-nav-view functions as expected in the emulator.

Answer №1

It's important to ensure that your

templateUrl: 'templates/apps/index.html'
includes the forward slash to make the path absolute. This will function correctly when using ionic serve since it operates as a web server located at the domain root. However, in an app environment, this may cause issues because files are loaded via the file:// protocol and not from the root directory. This could lead to crashes due to referencing nonexistent files or encountering permission problems by trying to access content outside of the app's scope.
