Increase the size of images on the same screen with a click using WP Metas

Currently, I am utilizing WP Metaslider for a slideshow/gallery presentation. While it is functioning well, I would like to enhance the user experience by allowing the images in the slider to enlarge within the slide when clicked on, rather than opening in a new window. Ideally, I want the clicked image to expand while other images remain the same size or shrink.

Although I have attempted to use CSS and JavaScript as outlined here, I have not had success with this method.

I am open to exploring other plugins that might offer a similar feature. The accordion plugin available here seems promising, but I desire the ability to view all images without any being cropped off.

Answer №1

Today, I stumbled upon a solution to an old problem that had been lingering in my mind for years. If you're struggling with how to open an image in a lightbox modal, fear not! Check out this helpful guide:

To achieve this, follow these steps:

  1. Begin by installing the MetaSlider plugin

  2. Next, add two more plugins: MetaSlider Lightbox and a suitable "lightbox plugin" (such as Easy FancyBox).

  3. Create a new slide or select an existing one, then navigate to the "Advanced" section on the right panel. Choose "Open in lightbox" and adjust settings using the "Edit settings" link.

  4. Don't forget to click 'save' and test your changes on a published page.
