Images on web pages are automatically resized to fit into a smaller preview window

Currently, I am facing an issue with the display of images in my grid windows on my website . The images are appearing as partial representations instead of rescaled versions where the whole picture is resized to fit the grid window. I have attempted modifying the attributes to height:100% or width:100%, but unfortunately, it did not yield the desired result. I would greatly appreciate any assistance in resolving this matter.

Answer №1

A great solution would be adjusting the size of the div to match the thumbnail when using css background-image, or loading it in an <img> tag which will adjust automatically. Another option is using <

img height='200' width='200' />
to force browser scaling, although quality may suffer. It's best to prescale the image using high quality software or code that respects image ratios.

An alternative approach in CSS is utilizing the new CSS3 property: background-size: 200px 50px, but this isn't recommended for a broad audience.

Answer №2

To include an image on your webpage, you can use the following code:

<img src='...' style='width:200px;'/>
(You can adjust the width to suit your needs). If you want to limit the height of the image, you can add style='height:100px'. Be cautious when using both width and height restrictions as it may distort the image (avoid using both if you want to maintain the original aspect ratio).
