Image Link for Facebook

Just finished designing and launching this website:

However, when our administrators try to share a link on Facebook, the post shows an icon that doesn't quite match our company branding:

Is there any way to change the icon displayed? The 'v' logo is not really representative of our company.

Appreciate any help!

Answer №1

Facebook utilizes the Open Graph protocol to determine which image to display on your web page.

<meta property="og:image" content="http://LINK_TO_YOUR_IMAGE"/>

It is recommended to use a square image for optimal display on Facebook. The image should be at least 50x50 pixels and in a commonly supported format such as JPG or PNG.

Answer №2

When sharing a link from your website on Facebook, it's important to include a

<meta property="og:image" content="someimg.jpg" />
in the head section of the URL you're directing users to. This allows Facebook to know which image to use for the post.
