How to create a non-clickable section within a linked div

Website:

I am interested in linking just the triangle banner located at the top right corner of the page. The triangle image is actually a transparent rectangle with only the triangle portion filled in, so I want to ensure that only that particular section is clickable. I do not want the entire div to be linked as I need the buttons underneath it to still be functional.

It may sound a bit confusing, but hopefully you get what I mean.

Answer №1

One way to achieve this is by utilizing an image map.

Using an image map would require you to use an img tag instead of setting it as a background.
