How do I create a sliding dropdown notification bar?

Can anyone provide some guidance on how to create a sliding dropdown section for my homepage, similar to the one on this website: . (Please note, be cautious of potential malware)

I'm interested in replicating the dropdown section that says "call for a free quotation," which appears after about 5 seconds of the page loading.

If possible, I'd like to incorporate an image into the sliding dropdown effect as well.

Thank you in advance.

Answer №1

It's actually pretty simple to achieve using jQuery and the .slideDown method. You can check out an example here: http://jsfiddle.net/QWqj5/.

setTimeout(function() {
    $("#alert").slideDown(2000); // This will slide down the element for 2 seconds
}, 5000); // Execute this after waiting for 5 seconds

Answer №2

If you want to accomplish this, consider crafting a container at the beginning of your website that includes all the necessary details and then utilize JQuery's slide down feature on said container.
