Exporting a web page as a Microsoft Word document is not working properly because

Need assistance with exporting a webpage to Microsoft Word in table format, as the table layout is not displaying correctly and is missing CSS styling. Can someone please help me resolve this issue?

Answer №1

When it comes to comparing a doc or docx file with an html file, there are significant differences between the two. If you're looking to preserve an offline version of a website, utilizing a scraper tool or capturing a screenshot of the desired webpage would be more effective.

It's important to note that CSS does not function in a word document and is therefore not compatible. While there are potential workarounds for this issue, saving the content as an html file and working from there seems like a simpler solution. Wishing you a wonderful day ahead!

Answer №2

Follow this guide:

  1. Open Microsoft Word.
  2. Navigate to Insert >> Object >> Text from File.
  3. Choose the necessary .html file from the dialog box that appears.
  4. Save your document as a Word Document (.docx).

Another method to try:

  1. Save your document in .html or .htm format.
  2. A new folder will be created with your documents inside.
  3. Add your CSS stylesheet to this folder by going to the Developer Tab >> Document Template >> Linked CSS >> Add.

Give these steps a go, they should help!
