Discovering more about this topic

Looking for a way to create an expandable box that enlarges when "read more" is clicked, revealing text below it. And also looking to add a button that closes the expanded text back up.

Experimented with the toggletext JavaScript command, as found on this website, but it only affected the text below the "read more," causing sentences to run behind the next div element.

Tried using the spry collapsible panel in Dreamweaver, which had the same issue of hiding behind without opening again.

Currently, the expand function I created can only be customized once, and duplicates will open the text from the first one instead.

Need to make this feature user-friendly for someone at the office without web design experience to manage later.

As a new designer, any help or new ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I recently implemented the Details disclosure element from HTML 5 into my website.

To achieve this in WordPress, simply insert a classic text box and switch to HTML mode to include the necessary tags.

Within the text area

<details>
Summary text...
<summary>Read more</summary>
Detail text
</details>

Visit here for more information on the Details element.

It all comes down to style! The issue lies in the height property specified on the div.plistobtxtbox carrying the read more buttons. Simply by eliminating that declaration from your home.css document, the text following the expanded content will shift downward upon clicking the read more button.
