Differentiate your borders with CSS styling of various colors

Is there a way in CSS to create multiple lines with different colored borders stacked on top of each other without using a background image?

Take a look at the example below:

Answer №1

Check out this code snippet that demonstrates how to utilize the ::before and ::after pseudo-elements in CSS.

body {
  margin: 2em;
}

.TopBorder {
  border-top: 2px solid #36db8b;
  position: relative;
}

.TopBorder::after {
  position: absolute;
  left: 50%;
  right: 0;
  top: -2px;
  border-top: 2px solid #cccccc;
  content: '';
}
<div class="TopBorder ">

  Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit.

</div>

This approach allows you to apply two different styles to a single element, first by using ::before for one part of the design and then adding another style with ::after.
