Customizing the appearance of the dragged element in jQuery UI

Is there a way to modify the color of a draggable list item after it has been dragged?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

$("#DragWordList li").draggable({helper: 'clone'});

Answer №1

If you want to apply a class to the cloned element while dragging, you can do so within the drag event function:

 $("#DragWordList li").draggable({
     helper: "clone",
     drag: function(ev,ui){
         ui.helper.addClass('highlight');
     }
 });

Answer №2

To easily customize the CSS class ui-draggable-dragging

For example:

.ui-draggable-dragging{
   border:2px dotted blue;
   background:green;
}
