"Customize Your CSS Dropdown Menu with Dynamic Background Color for div Elements

I recently put together a website dedicated to watches. Feel free to check it out at horology dot info.

(Please refrain from sharing the direct URL of my site in your reply.)

I'm curious as to why the dropdown menu, sourced from , is showing up under id="content" rather than id="banner" where the blue background is located. I'd like the menu to display right below the logo text against the blue backdrop. Could anyone shed some light on why there's a significant amount of vertical space before the banner? I also aim to minimize the empty vertical space at the top. For your information, I'm using Firefox on Ubuntu Linux.

Answer №1

To modify the appearance of your #banner class in "/horology.css", include the display property (display: inline-block;).

#banner {
    width: 800px;
    background-color: #00C;
    display: inline-block;
}
