Customize Color of Bootstrap Tooltips

Is there a way to customize the appearance of BootStrap tooltips by changing the color and aligning the text to the left? I've tried various CSS modifications from different posts, but none seem to work. Any idea on how to alter the CSS of the tooltip text message?

Here is the HTML code for the tooltips:

<button type="button" class="btn btn-lg btn-info bottom-right-2" data-html="true"
data-toggle="tooltip" data-placement="left" title="text text">

Answer №1

Before adjusting the color scheme, ensure that there is enough space on the left side of the button for the tooltip to be displayed. Otherwise, it will appear on the right side.

To modify the color:

/* Adjust the arrow background color */
.tooltip > .arrow:before{
  border-left-color: lightblue;
}

.tooltip > .tooltip-inner {
  color: darkblue;
  background-color: lightblue;
}

For reference, refer to Bootstrap's documentation on tooltips: https://getbootstrap.com/docs/4.5/components/tooltips/#markup
