css absolute positioning and setting the height of a repeating background

I am facing a challenge with a container that contains a repeating image and I want it to fill 100% of the available height. However, some inner divs have their :after pseudo elements absolutely positioned to achieve the desired borders, which is causing an issue with the repeating background of the main container.

If you could take a moment to visit the following link and scroll to the end of the page -

I would appreciate any suggestions for a possible solution to this problem. Thank you!

Answer №1

Just a quick workaround, but you can experiment with adjusting the bottom padding in your layout like so:

.layout {
  ...
  padding-bottom: 180px;
}

Answer №2

Upon reviewing your CSS code, I believe that by implementing the following adjustments, you can achieve a full-page background effect:

  background: white url("/bootstrap/assets/images/pattern.png") 0 0;
  width: 100%;
  margin: 0 auto;
  padding: 30px 0;
  min-height: 100%;

Simply modify the "width: 100%;" property to suit your needs.

Answer №3

Kindly update the style for your layout div with these changes. This should resolve any issues.

.layout{
  background: white url("/assets/images/pattern.png") 0 0;
  width: 100%;  /* ensure 100% width*/
  margin: 0 auto;
  padding: 0 0 150px 0;  /*adjust padding accordingly*/
  min-height: 100%;
}
