Creating my website with a unique inverse color scheme

I'm looking to change the color scheme of my webpage so that it is inverse (white becomes black and black becomes white) similar to the Dark Reader chrome extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/dark-reader/eimadpbcbfnmbkopoojfekhnkhdbieeh?hl=en

Can anyone advise on how I can achieve this effect on my html page? I know how to control a black background with HTML, but what about text and text boxes?

Answer №1

To implement an invert effect using CSS, you can utilize the filter property as shown below:

body {
    filter: invert();
    -moz-filter: invert(); /*Specifically for Mozilla Firefox*/
    -webkit-filter: invert(); /*Tailored for Chrome and the latest version of Opera*/
}

Note: This technique is not compatible with Internet Explorer, Opera Mini, and has limited support in Edge.

For further details, refer to CanIUse relating to the filter feature.
