Creating Images that appear optimized on smaller screens - the art of responsive design!

Currently, I am in the process of working on this test page located at the following link:

While the page appears fine on my laptop screen, it is displaying poorly on my phone's browser. The images, in particular, appear disorganized and messy.

Could you provide any suggestions or tips on how to ensure that the images appear properly on mobile devices?

Many thanks, Alex

Answer №1

Omega came up with a great suggestion, but it's important to also include the width parameter. I find it helpful to set the width as a percentage and the max-width as a pixel value. This way, when the screen size goes past the max width limit, it only considers the width parameter. Here is an example:

img {
  max-width:500px; /*When the screen size is less than 500px, the image adheres to the width value*/
  width:100%;
}

JSFiddle

Answer №2

To optimize your website for mobile devices, remember to utilize media queries for styling. Incorporate percentages with max-width and min-width values when styling images.

@media screen and (max-width:480px) {
    //Implement CSS styles specifically for mobile devices
}

Answer №3

Avoid specifying pixel measurements for your images and consider using the following CSS rule for img tags:

img {
max-width: 100%;
height: auto;
}
