Creating a tree-like design with the spry accordion換stepping up your spr

I want to style my accordion in a way that it resembles a tree structure. How can I achieve this using CSS?

For example: + should be displayed when the accordion tab is closed, and - when the accordion is open.

<div class="Accordion" id="systemAccordion" tabindex="1">
    <div class="AccordionPanel">
        <div class="AccordionPanelTab">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<a onClick="showSystemSpan();">System</a></div>
        <div class="AccordionPanelContent">
            <a onClick="showPatchesSpan();">Patches</a><br/>
            <a onClick="showNetworkSpan();">Network</a><br/>
        </div>
    </div>
    <div class="AccordionPanel">
        <div class="AccordionPanelTab" >&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<a onClick="showNone();">User Environment</a></div>
        <div class="AccordionPanelContent">
            <a onClick="showEnvironmentVariableSpan();">Environment Variables</a><br/>
        </div>
    </div>
    <div class="AccordionPanel">
        <div class="AccordionPanelTab">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<a onClick="showSystemSpan();">{mainData::@product}</a></div>
        <div class="AccordionPanelContent">
            <a onClick="showOdbcSpan();">ODBC</a><br/>
            <a onClick="showBitmodeSpan();">Bitmode</a><br/>
        </div>
    </div>
    <script type="text/javascript">
        var sysAcc = new Spry.Widget.Accordion("systemAccordion", {defaultPanel: -1, useFixedPanelHeights: false});
    </script>
</div>

Answer №1

For those seeking customization in the appearance of their SpryAccordion, simply navigate to the SpryAccordion.css stylesheet for easy access.

.AccordionPanelTab {}

.AccordionPanelOpen .AccordionPanelTab {}

By editing the background image properties of these classes, you can achieve the desired visual effect. Keep in mind that .AccordionPanelTab pertains to the normal state, while .AccordionPanelOpen .AccordionPanelTab affects the open state. Additionally, the stylesheet includes comments explaining the purpose of each class.

Answer №2

Implement CSS background image properties and assign them to the appropriate CSS class depending on whether it is open or closed.
