Creating a border on a Bootstrap 4 card with a button: Step-by-step guide

Is it possible to create a button on the border of a Bootstrap card using CSS? You can see an example in the image below:

https://i.sstatic.net/XFGSX.jpg

I checked the Bootstrap 4 documentation and couldn't find a direct way to achieve this. Is it possible to style it using CSS?

Answer №1

.card .btn {
    position: absolute;
    left: 50%;
    bottom: 0;
    transform: translate(-50%, 50%);
}
<link href="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/4.0.0/css/bootstrap.min.css" rel="stylesheet"/>
<div class="card" style="width: 18rem;">
  <div class="card-body">
    <h5 class="card-title">Card title</h5>
    <p class="card-text">Some quick example text to build on the card title and make up the bulk of the card's content.</p>
    <a href="#" class="btn btn-primary">Go somewhere</a>
  </div>
</div>

You can achieve this effect by applying the specified CSS properties to the button element:

position: absolute;
left: 50%;
bottom: 0;
transform: translate(-50%, 50%);
