Could there be an issue with the directory path for the file?

https://i.stack.imgur.com/m8F9y.pngThe background-url() function was utilized to set the background screen to PurpleCloud.png. Despite multiple attempts, the image is still not being displayed. What could be the issue?

Even after understanding file path writing techniques, various methods have been tested but no success achieved. How should I proceed with the correct method?

Answer №1

For the proper formatting, consider using the following syntax:

background-image: url('resources/BlueSky.png');

If you are applying a background image to a div element, don't forget to specify its width and height as well. You can use Chrome devTools to inspect the element and view its CSS properties.

Answer №2

To add a background image, use the following CSS rule: background-image: url('/images/purple-clouds.jpg');

Answer №3

Experiment

background-image: url('src/resources/PurpleCloud.png');

or

background-image: url('../../resources/PurpleCloud.png');

Both options are valid, but the second option includes a relative path.
