Could the bottom scrollbar be made stationary?

My website features a sizable table with a bottom scrollbar due to overflow, which is essential. However, as the number of rows increases, the height of the table becomes an issue, requiring users to constantly scroll down to reach the bottom.

Is there a way to make the bottom scrollbar fixed so that users don't have to continually scroll to the bottom of the page? I've searched on Google with no luck finding a solution.

Answer №1

Achieving this is definitely doable and quite simple

document.documentElement.scrollTop = document.documentElement.scrollHeight;

This command should be executed when your DOM content has finished loading (at the end of the body or triggered by an event).

If the scroll is not on the body, you can substitute 'document.body' with another element.

<div id="myDiv">
...
<script>
  var myDiv = document.getElementById('myDiv');
  myDiv.scrollTop = myDiv.scrollHeight;
