Converting Uniquely Designed Photoshop Shapes into HTML

I am working on a project to design an HTML page that features a profile picture with a heart frame. I have the PSD file with the heart frame included.

The profile pictures will be rectangular in shape and should fit behind the heart frame without overlapping it. Creating slices of the profile pictures results in rectangles which do not align perfectly with the frame. Since the images used will vary based on user uploads, we can't simply crop them to fit properly into the frame.

Is there a way to use the slice tool to create a specific slice of the heart (the white space within the frame) so that it can serve as the background for the profile picture? Currently, all I am able to achieve are rectangular slices.

Thank you.

To achieve this effect, you can modify the heart-shaped frame image in Photoshop so that the inside of the heart is transparent and the outer part is white.

Afterwards, you can apply CSS to set two backgrounds for the container of the profile picture - the first background being the modified heart picture and the second being the actual profile photo.
