Concealing the primary div within a Vue child component

Is there a way to conceal the primary div within a Vue application created using Vue-CLI? I attempted adding the display property, but it did not solve the problem. I am attempting to hide it within my Channels component. Here is how my main component looks:

<template>
  <div id="app">
    <Channels/>
  </div>
</template>

<script>
import Channels from './components/Channels'

export default {
  name: 'App',
  components: {
    Channels
  }
}
</script>

Answer №1

One helpful way to structure your code is by using the <template> tag.

<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/vue/2.5.17/vue.js"></script>

<div id="app">
  <template>
    <p>
      Am I surrounded by a Div or Template?
    </p>
  </template>
</div>

<script>
new Vue({
  el: "#app"
})
</script>

If you inspect the parent of the p tag in developer tools, you will see that it is wrapped in a div instead of a template.

Answer №2

Do you intend to remove the <div id="app">? If so, go ahead and delete it, but ensure that there remains only one root element in the <template>.
