Cannot get Favicon.ico to update after downloading

Recently, I started playing around with html and CSS. I decided to customize my website by using an icon as my favicon. I successfully converted a .png file to a .ico using a generator, downloaded it, and implemented it on my site. However, now I'm facing a problem when I try to change the favicon.

The icon I want as my favicon.ico is a bit difficult to see, but it's a circle with a logo inside of it.

When I transfer it to my website folder, it transforms into a completely different logo. Here is the unexpected logo it changes to:

No matter what I try, such as using a different .ico converter or deleting the original .ico file, the issue persists. If anyone has any suggestions or solutions, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

Answer №1

It is highly probable that the issue is caused by browser caching. To resolve this, clear your browser cache or add a parameter to the URL that you can modify whenever you require a fresh version to be downloaded.
