Can minification of JS be achieved in a Jekyll environment?

Currently, I am in the process of developing a project with Jekyll and one of the requirements is to minify HTML, CSS, and JS. I was wondering if Jekyll has built-in features for JS minification. It may seem like a simple question, but since I am new to Jekyll, any guidance would be greatly welcomed.

Answer №1

One solution is to incorporate a plugin into your setup, as far as I know.

In reference to this particular discussion, it is recommended to utilize the Jekyll Assets plugin.

Answer №2

Have you experimented with the minifier tool I just created? Check it out here: https://github.com/Mendeo/jekyll-minifier. It's built using liquid language, eliminating the need for extra gem installations and ensuring seamless integration with GitHub Pages.
