Can a background image flow into another div?

My goal is to use this specific image as the background image for this particular page. I want the background image to begin within the navbar navbar-default class. However, I'm facing an issue. I need the image to extend into the next div, which is defined as:

class="elementor-element elementor-element-gjr87i6 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default elementor-section elementor-top-section"

Is there a way to achieve this? I've attempted using overflow but haven't been successful in making it work.

Answer №1

To achieve a uniform background for multiple divs, set the background image to a main div and then nest the other divs within it.

Answer №2

To achieve this, you can wrap both div elements in a shared parent div and set the background image on that parent div. Utilize jQuery's wrapAll() function to dynamically wrap them, assuming they are next to each other.

<div class='wrap'>
  <div class='navbar navbar-default'></div>
  <div class='elementor-element elementor-element-gjr87i6 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default elementor-section elementor-top-section'></div>
</div>

.wrap {
  background: url('...') no-repeat;
  background-size: cover;
}

$('.navbar-default, .elementor-top-section').wrapAll('<div class="wrap"></div>');
