Button to close on the right side of the navigation bar in Bootstrap version 4

Attempting to customize a navbar with Bootstrap 4, I have implemented the following modifications:

  1. Positioned the Collapse button on the right-hand side
  2. Separated the BrandName from the collapse area to ensure it remains on the left side

Below is the comprehensive code snippet:

<nav class="navbar navbar-dark bg-danger">
    <a class="navbar-brand" href="#">Navbar</a>
    <button class="navbar-toggler hidden-lg-up float-xs-right" type="button" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#navbarResponsive" aria-controls="navbarResponsive" aria-expanded="false" aria-label="Toggle navigation"></button>
    <div class="collapse navbar-toggleable-md" id="navbarResponsive">
        <ul class="nav navbar-nav float-md-right">
            <li class="nav-item active">
                <a class="nav-link" href="#">Home <span class="sr-only">(current)</span></a>
            </li>
            <li class="nav-item">
                <a class="nav-link" href="#">Link</a>
            </li>
            <li class="nav-item">
                <a class="nav-link" href="#">Link</a>
            </li>
            <li class="nav-item dropdown">
                <a class="nav-link dropdown-toggle" href="http://example.com" id="responsiveNavbarDropdown" data-toggle="dropdown" aria-haspopup="true" aria-expanded="false">Dropdown</a>
                <div class="dropdown-menu" aria-labelledby="responsiveNavbarDropdown">
                    <a class="dropdown-item" href="#">Action</a>
                    <a class="dropdown-item" href="#">Another action</a>
                    <a class="dropdown-item" href="#">Something else here</a>
                </div>
            </li>
        </ul>
    </div>
</nav>

Encountering difficulty when clicking on the hamburger icon, as it fails to display the collapsing menus correctly.

Unable to identify the error in my implementation.

To ensure proper display, encase the button and heading within a div and include the class="clearfix-xs" attribute.

For example:

<div class="clearfix-xs">
    <a class="navbar-brand" href="#">Navbar</a>
    <button class="navbar-toggler hidden-lg-up float-xs-right" type="button" data-toggle="collapse"
        data-target="#navbarResponsive" aria-controls="navbarResponsive" aria-expanded="false"
        aria-label="Toggle navigation">
    </button>
</div>

The corresponding CSS for this class is:

@media(max-width:768px) {
    .clearfix-xs:after {
        visibility: hidden;
        display: block;
        font-size: 0;
        content: " ";
        clear: both;
        height: 0;
    }
}
