An inexplicable right margin

I am facing an issue with centering a table (a tracklist) under the album cover and title. There seems to be an unexpected margin on the right side that I can't seem to figure out. Any help in identifying the cause of this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Answer №1

The table has been set to a width of 80%, resulting in a large margin equivalent to the remaining 20% width. To center the element in this scenario, the best approach is to apply a margin: 0px auto;

 table {
        width: 80%;
        text-align: center;
        margin: 0px auto;
    }

Answer №2

Make sure to define the width. Give this a shot:

.playlist
{
display: block;
margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
background-color: rgb(222,222,222);
width:800px;
}
