Adjust the CSS button size to match the HTML border dimensions

As I work on my website, I have created buttons and used CSS to adjust the padding in order to make them equal in size. However, I am now curious if there is a way to dynamically size the buttons to fit within the table border for a consistent look across various browser resolutions.

Take a look at this screenshot of my site to see the current layout

Answer №1

Set the button to have a width of 100% and apply padding: 0 to the td

table {
  width: 200px;
}
td {
  border: 1px solid;
  padding: 0;
}
button {
  width: 100%;
}
<table>
  <tr>
    <td>
      <button>Button</button>
    </td>
  </tr>
</table>
