Adjust header size to remain on a single line

Currently, I am in the process of customizing a Wordpress layout for a company, but I have encountered an issue with the design.

The problem arises when I add a logo to the header and place the navigation bar to the right of it. As I zoom in on the page, the navigation bar shifts to the next row unexpectedly.

I would appreciate any advice on how to ensure that the logo and navigation stay on the same row even when zooming in.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Answer №1

As you adjust the zoom on your page, the viewport size decreases and triggers your Media Query designed for that specific width.

If you wish to prevent your menu from collapsing, consider eliminating the Media Query altogether.

This shouldn't cause any problems, so feel free to keep it as is.

Answer №2

If you're looking to optimize your layout for mobile and tablet devices, consider the following approach -

Adjust the font size of the menu text using:

font-size: 1vw;

Then, update the media query for the mobile menu toggle bar to 1000px

Reset the font size within that media query back to its original value.

By utilizing VW units, the font will adjust proportionally with the browser width.

This method allows the browser to be resized further before triggering the toggle, preventing text from wrapping onto a new line too quickly.
