Adding CSS properties to an image within the ImageResourceCell of a CellTable

After creating a CellTable with an image column in GWT using ImageResource, I encountered a problem. I needed to change some CSS properties of the image such as size or adding 'cursor="pointer" for a click event, but was unsure how to do so. When inspecting the image in Firebug, there appeared to be default styling applied. Is there a way to apply CSS styles to an image created with ImageResource in GWT?

private Column<DocList, ImageResource> statusColumn;
private final Resources resources = GWT.create(Resources.class);
final String STATUS_COLUMN = "Status";
statusColumn = buildStatusColumn();

private Column<DocList, ImageResource> buildStatusColumn() {
    statusColumn = new Column<DocList, ImageResource>(
            new ImageResourceCell()) {
        @Override
        public ImageResource getValue(DocList object) {
            return resources.draft();
        }
    };
    statusColumn.setDataStoreName(STATUS_COLUMN);
    return statusColumn;
}

public interface Resources extends ClientBundle {
    @Source("draft.png")
    ImageResource draft();
}

Answer №1

Column comes equipped with a method known as getCellStyleName().

If you wish to customize the style of your column based on the image being used, you can override this method to return a specific style.

@Override
public String getCellStyleName()
{
    return resources.draft().getName();
}

Subsequently, you can define the corresponding style in your stylesheet like so:

.draft img {
    cursor: pointer;
    width: ...;
    height: ...;
}
