A method for automatically refreshing a webpage once it switches between specific resolutions

On my page www.redpeppermedia.in/tc24_beta/, it functions well at a resolution of over 980px. However, when the resolution is brought down to 768px, the CSS and media queries alter the layout. But upon refreshing the page at 768px, everything corrects itself. If you then resize the page beyond 768px, another refresh is needed for the layout to adjust.

Is there a more efficient way to handle this issue? Any assistance on how to fix this refreshing and reloading process would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance :)

Answer №1

Discover the wonders of window.resize feature in jQuery:

var previous_width = $( window ).width();

$( window ).resize(function() {
  if(previous_width > 768 && $( window ).width() < 768){
    window.location.reload();
  }
  previous_width = $( window ).width();
});

Answer №2

I stumbled upon this incredible code snippet that completely streamlined my tasks:

$(document).ready(function(){
    var ww = $(window).width();
    var limit = 768;

    function refresh() {
        ww = $(window).width();
        var w =  ww<limit ? (location.reload(true)) :  ( ww>limit ? (location.reload(true)) : ww=limit );
    }

    var tOut;
    $(window).resize(function() {
        var resW = $(window).width();
        clearTimeout(tOut);
        if ((ww>limit && resW<limit) || (ww<limit && resW>limit) ) {
            tOut = setTimeout(refresh, 100);
        }
    });
});
