What is the best way to switch back and forth between two div elements?

I've been attempting to switch between displaying div .cam1 and div .cam2, however, I can't seem to get it to work. Here's the code snippet in question:

HTML:

 <div class="cam1"></div>
 <div class="cam2"></div>

CSS:

.cam1 {
position:absolute;
height:100%;
width:100%;
background-color:red;
}

.cam2 {
position:absolute;
height:100%
width:100%
background-color:blue;
}

JS:

$('.cam2').hide();
$('.cam1, .cam2').on('click',
    function()
    {
        $('.cam1, .cam2').toggle()
    }
);

$(document).read(main)

Answer №1

It seems like your DOM elements are not fully loaded when you try to hide and bind events to them. To ensure everything works as expected, wrap your code in a DOM ready event:

$(function(){
    $('.cam2').hide();
    $('.cam1, .cam2').on('click',function(){
        $('.cam1, .cam2').toggle();
   });
});
