What is the best way to override CSS on the Google homepage using Chrome?

Is there a way to modify the CSS style on Google's homepage permanently?

  • I have been able to do it using DevTools/Overrides, but I always have to keep DevTools open.
  • I've looked into some Chrome extensions, but they seem to work everywhere except for this default tab (without a URL).
  • There is an option in the bottom right corner to change the background color, but not to define the entire CSS style.
  • I vaguely recall being able to apply custom CSS to any website on Firefox and Chrome, but it seems that feature may have been removed.

If anyone could provide assistance, it would be greatly appreciated! :)

DevTools allows for alterations on the client-side, meaning changes that only you and your device can view. Keep in mind that these modifications do not impact the css sent through the internet to you. Additionally, any adjustments made within DevTools are reset whenever the page is refreshed, reverting back to the server's default code. This implies that permanent css modifications cannot be made to code from an external server; any alterations made on the client-side are temporary.
