What is the best way to ensure a textfield remains aligned with its label in ExtJS?

Hey there, I am working on a large window that contains a form with multiple text fields. The default alignment has the labels to the left and the input boxes centered. Is there a way to keep the input boxes aligned next to their respective labels on the left side? Do you know of any tutorials or resources for working with CSS in ExtJS?

Answer №1

To implement right alignment for labels in your form, include

labelAlign: 'right'
within your form configuration. For instance:

var myForm = new Ext.form.FormPanel({
    height: 200,
    width: 250,
    labelAlign: 'right',
    labelWidth: 80, // Adjust as needed based on field label length
    items: [{
        fieldLabel: 'Name',
        ....
    }, ....]
})

Answer №2

Regarding the inquiry about CSS: It is not possible to relocate Components within a Container that has a FormLayout, unless you consistently apply !important.

The reason for this limitation is that the layout defines the child components' dom style attributes during rendering.
