What is the best way to apply styles to a React component that is passed as a prop?

I'm currently working on a component that is passed as a label prop. In order for me to utilize justify-content: space between within my div, I must ensure it has a width of 100%. You can see how this appears in the developer tools by clicking here.

return (
    <div className={classes.row}>
      <Checkbox
        value={deviceId}
        className={classes.checkbox}
        checked={Boolean(selected)}
        onChange={handleToggle}
        label={
          <div>
            <Tooltip title={t('integrations.deviceEUI')} placement={'top-start'}>
              <Typography variant="body1" className={classes.item}>
                {deviceEui}
              </Typography>
            </Tooltip>
            <Tooltip title={t('integrations.deviceName')} placement={'top-start'}>
              <Typography variant="body1" className={classes.item}>
                {name || ''}
              </Typography>
            </Tooltip>
          </div>
        }
      />
    </div>
  );
};

Answer №1

It seems there may be some confusion, but if you're looking to apply styles to a React component, you can achieve this easily by following these steps:

const labelStyles = {
   width: '100%'
};

After defining the labelStyles, you can then incorporate it into the parent <div> within your return statement like this:

<div style={labelStyles}>
   //additional components
</div>

If this isn't addressing your specific concern, please provide more clarity on the issue at hand. Thank you!

Answer №2

To tackle this issue in React Native, you can easily assign the "style" property to the component like so:

const CustomizedComponent = ({style}) => {}

Once you have access to the "style" property in the "CustomizedComponent", you can proceed to use it by utilizing the following code snippet:

<CustomizedComponent style={{}}/>
