What is the best way to align elements in relation to a central div container?

Is there a way to align two buttons in the center on the same line, and then position a selector to the right of those centered buttons? How can I achieve this arrangement? Essentially, how do you position an element in relation to a centered div?

Flexbox is the perfect solution for this!

.container {
  background: gray;
  display: flex;
  text-align: center;
  justify-content: flex-end;
  height: 40px;
  align-items: center;
}

.main {
  width: 100%;
}
.main button {
  width: 100px;
}
.sidebar {
  width: 200px;
}
<div class="container">
  <div class="main">
    <button>a</button>
    <button>b</button>
  </div>
  <div class="sidebar">Section C</div>
</div>
