What happens when the window size is reduced and elements start to overlap?

I recently finished creating a website, but I've hit a bit of a roadblock.

If you take a look at the website here:

You'll notice that when you resize the window, the navigation overlaps with the logo/header.

Is there any way to fix this issue? Ideally, I would like a scroll bar to appear on the window if possible.

Any suggestions or solutions?

Thanks so much for your help! :-D

Answer №1

The issue you're experiencing with the overflow behavior is likely due to the width: 100%; property in your #header element. To resolve this, consider placing your #logo and #navigation elements within a separate div container that has a set height and width inside the #header. Afterwards, apply the overflow: hidden; property to the #header element, which should help rectify the problem.

Answer №2

To ensure that your navigation does not overlap, you can implement the following adjustments

#navigation {
width: 500px;
height: 100px;
padding-top: 52px;
position: fixed; // MODIFY TO FIXED POSITION
left: 770px; // INCLUDE THIS POSITIONING (ADJUST ACCORDINGLY)
float: right; // OMIT THIS FLOAT PROPERTY
text-align: center;
vertical-align: middle;

}
