What could be causing this navigation item to vanish in Firefox?

Check out this link: http://jsfiddle.net/Nvntm/1/

In Firefox and some other browsers, the "Support" navigation item disappears while the other three remain. Why does this happen? Is there something incorrect in my code?

Answer №1

It appears that the containing <ul> does not have enough width to fit all of its child <li> items. Would it be possible to increase the fixed width to 670px?

This issue may be caused by varying default CSS styles applied by different browsers. Have you implemented a "reset" CSS in your application to address this?

Answer №2

When you modify the nav css to display the overflow, it reveals that the navigation items are simply transitioning to the next line.

To remedy this issue, increase the width beyond 660px (the optimal value for your specific case is 668px):

.nav_centered ul {

overflow: visible;
width: 668px;

Keep the overflow activated while adjusting the width to view the content wrapping, then deactivate it once done. This feature is solely for visualization assistance. Hopefully, this solution proves helpful :)
